Outpatient Physical Therapist

Job Description

The Outpatient Physical Therapist evaluates assigned patients and develops, implements, and modifies treatment plans in accordance with patient needs, goals, and physician direction. The role includes delegation and direction of all discipline-specific therapy services for those assigned patients while ensuring the design of functional treatment programs that facilitate effective community reintegration. Additionally, the therapist serves as an educator for patients, families, students, and coworkers while performing professional duties related to patient care and the development of therapy services.

Responsibilities
  • Complete comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
  • Utilize clinical reasoning to develop appropriate treatment plans and goals.
  • Document patient records in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Ensure care is provided under signed, valid physician orders within insurance approvals.
  • Participate in student programs by providing a positive learning environment.
  • Create individualized professional development plans and pursue ongoing education.
  • Adhere to discipline-specific State Practice Acts and maintain professional licensure.
  • Understand and apply performance improvement methodologies in clinical practice.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 1 year of outpatient clinical experience.
  • Current CPR certification.
