Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Service Representative 1 offers administrative support to both patients and clinicians under the guidance of the Practice Director. Serving as the first point of contact for patients, families, and external parties, this role requires excellent communication and customer service skills. Responsibilities include patient registration, scheduling, addressing billing inquiries, and managing phone calls. This position also provides daily clerical support to the clinic and may assist in orienting new staff or support other departments when necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
  • High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge:
  • Basic medical terminology, insurance billing, and computer familiarity is preferred.
  • Customer service experience preferred.

Skills:
  • Detail oriented.
• Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Basic office equipment familiarity.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
• Maintaining a positive disposition at all times is required.
  • Comfortable with regularly verifying and processing insurance eligibility and obtaining authorization requests, including verifying personal credentials with external partners to obtain this information (e.g., ID.me for identity verification for VA insurance coordination).
