Job description

Alliance Health at Baldwinville is a 93 bed LTC/Skilled Nursing Facility. We are seeking a dependable and experienced Per Diem Cook to join our Dietary Services team. This position is responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals in accordance with physician-ordered therapeutic diets, resident preferences, and federal/state long-term care regulations.

The ideal candidate understands the importance of food quality, safety, and resident satisfaction in a healthcare environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and standardized recipes

  • Follow physician-ordered therapeutic diets (mechanical soft, puree, diabetic, low sodium, etc.)

  • Ensure compliance with CMS, state, and facility food safety regulations

  • Maintain proper food temperatures and complete required logs/documentation

  • Adhere to infection control and sanitation standards

  • Assist with meal service and tray accuracy for residents

  • Maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment

  • Communicate effectively with dietary manager and nursing staff

Qualifications:

  • Prior cooking experience required; long-term care or healthcare experience preferred

  • Knowledge of therapeutic diets strongly preferred

  • ServSafe certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)

  • Ability to work independently and efficiently

  • Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays
