POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs theduties and responsibilities of a Certified Diabetes Care and EducationSpecialist (CDCES) to assist the Weisman Children's Rehabilitation HospitalTeam in the development, operation, and evaluation of the Diabetes Management Program. Responsible for team based and patientdiabetes education.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
1. A healthprofessional who meets specific discipline requirements as defined by theCertification Board for Diabetes Care and Education (CBDCE).
2. Possessionof current registration/license to practice in their specific healthprofession, including active New Jersey license when applicable.
3. Possessionof a current certification as a Certified Diabetes Care and EducationSpecialist (CDCES) from the CBDCE.
4. Minimumof two years experience in Diabetes education and community healthcare preferred.
5. CPRcertification
6. Computerproficiency with WORD, Power Point, Excel strongly preferred
7. Abilityto instruct individuals and groups in formal and informal settings.
8. Abilityto work with people from different socio-cultural backgrounds and/or standardsof living in an effective manner
9. Abilityto communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
10. Abilityto incorporate new ideas or concepts into clinical practice.
11. Abilityto work with community agencies as appropriate.
