Job description

CDR Health Care Inc. is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) based in the Northern Florida area who are willing to travel to Sanderson, FL, to provide healthcare services at a detention facility. This role will provide vital support to RNs, APRNs, and other healthcare providers by assisting with medical screenings, patient assessments, and the delivery of care for detainees. The position involves collaborating closely with the clinical team to ensure timely, accurate, and compassionate medical services within a secure environment.
Please note that this is not a travel assignment; local candidates based in Sanderson, Lake City, or Jacksonville are preferred.
Essential Functions:

  • Collect laboratory specimens as assigned, ensuring proper handling and labeling.
  • Provide life support care, including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), in emergency situations.
  • Assess patient conditions and initiate appropriate initial treatments.
  • Perform clinical procedures such as starting IVs, drawing blood, applying splints, and providing wound care.
  • Assist with inventory management, including supply replenishment and stocking
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain point-of-care laboratory equipment to ensure accurate test results.
  • Review medical charts and accurately document patient information in compliance with healthcare standards.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience preferred.
  • Active LPN license in good standing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences in various settings.
  • Strong multitasking abilities, capable of managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines.
  • Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills to support a cohesive clinical environment.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of patient care policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Flexible availability including late afternoons, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed to respond to emergencies or critical incidents.
  • Willingness to relocate or travel up to 100% as required.
