Job description

Description
The Business Administration Division of the Seaver College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at Pepperdine University invites applicants with an earned Ph.D. in Financial Economics or a related field for a tenure-track faculty position in Finance to begin August 1, 2027. Applicants should complete all requirements for the Ph.D. before the start date. Successful candidates should be able to teach undergraduate courses in Corporate Finance, Investments, and Personal Finance. Prior teaching experience is preferable, but not required.
The business program at Seaver College is accredited by The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). US News and World Report ranks Pepperdine University among the top colleges and universities in the country, and we have a Research 2 designation. We have approximately 975 undergraduate students in the Business Administration Division. Despite a large number of majors, our classes are small (rarely more than 30 students) and our faculty is collegial and collaborative. The division offers Bachelor of Science degree programs in accounting, business administration, finance, and international business and several minors. Degree programs are offered on a full-time, residential basis at the main campus in Malibu, California.
Pepperdine's undergraduate Seaver College is a residential liberal arts college of approximately 3,500 students situated in Malibu, California. Successful applicants must have an active commitment to the Christian mission of the University and reflect on their willingness to support the mission of Seaver College in their application materials.
Applicants should provide the following materials: 1) a cover letter, 2) a curriculum vitae, 3) a response to the University's Christian mission 4) transcripts of all graduate work (copies are acceptable during the application process; official transcripts will be required for selected applicants), and 5) names and contact information for three references (the same individuals who will provide a Confidential Letter of Recommendation or Evaluation if the candidate proceeds with interviews).

The salary for this appointment will range from $145,000 to $185,000 and reflects what Pepperdine University reasonably expects to pay for this faculty appointment. Actual salary may vary based on the qualifications and experience of the applicant, as well as market conditions. In addition to salary, Pepperdine offers a robust suite of employee benefits.
