Job description

With offices in Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio, Pepper Construction is a national general contracting and construction management firm that primarily serves the private sector. Pepper Construction provides clients the experience and resources of a national company, combined with the hands-on approach of a local company.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Drywall Foreman is responsible for oversight, training, and coordinating the day-to-day activities at assigned job sites, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to high-quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Review construction documents and collaborate with PM to create an overall plan for execution of work.
  • Prepare/Publish 6 week look ahead schedule and perform ongoing updates weekly.
  • Order construction materials and coordinate deliveries.
  • Manage the ordering/terminating of rental equipment (internal and external) and maintain tool/equipment log.
  • Coordinate all manpower needs with the SPG Group Superintendent.
  • Direct crew on work tasks to be performed and establish daily goals.
  • Monitor tradesmen production and make corrections when production expectations are not met.
  • Complete time sheets for all tradesmen on crew and submit to payroll.
  • Complete electronic daily report and submit to GC daily.
  • Complete T&M tickets for activities that are out of scope and submit to GC Superintendent for signature regularly.
  • Collaborate with SPG PM to prepare/submit RFI's.
  • Attend/Participate in Project Daily Huddles and weekly Trade Partner Coordination Meetings.
  • Ensure Pepper's Safety requirements are being met by SPG crew and its 2nd and 3rd tier trade partners.
  • Perform daily THA with crew.
  • Perform job site audits and document observations through Predictive Solutions App.
  • Ensure requirements of Pepper's Quality program are being met.
  • Coordinate/Schedule 2nd and 3rd tier trade partners and ensure their work is being performed to Pepper's safety and quality standards.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Carpenter Foreman.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction projects working with metal stud framing, drywall, and acoustic ceilings.
  • Strong leadership skills to effectively manage a team.
  • Willingness to travel in the state of Indiana.
  • This is a union position.
