Position Overview
Reporting to the Vice President of Human Resources, the Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for delivering HR services to the Barrington office, including employee relations, onboarding, training coordination, and talent management support. This role requires the ability to partner effectively with employees at all levels, demonstrate flexibility in a dynamic environment, communicate clearly, and show a genuine commitment to supporting people and advancing Pepper's culture.
Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employees in the Barrington office, addressing questions, concerns, and issues in a timely and effective manner.
  • Partner with leaders to implement aligned talent management strategies, including identifying opportunities for team and individual development.
  • Ensure a smooth, engaging onboarding experience rooted in Pepper's values.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to support internal communications, social media presence, and related collateral.
  • Work closely with the Learning & Development team to coordinate and support local training initiatives.
  • Partner with the Recruiting team to ensure a strong, positive candidate experience.
  • Support and continuously enhance the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Work with HR peers across geographic subsidiaries to align and uphold companywide policies and procedures.
  • Assist with planning and coordinating company-sponsored events and activities.
  • Perform additional job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related degree required.
  • 5+ years' experience in the Human Resource.
  • Experience in real estate, architecture, engineering, or construction industry preferred but not required.
  • PHR and/or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
  • Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • This position is based in the Barrington office, with flexibility to work from home one day per week.

The annual salary midpoint for this role is $90,000. We consider many factors when determining the actual hiring salary. These factors may include location, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, internal equity, and market demands.
