Summary:

The Service Technician Level 1A is responsible for diagnosing and performance vehicle repairs and maintenance work as assigned and in accordance with factory and dealership specifications and time standards.

Schedule:

Our Service Department has implemented an Alternative Workweek Schedule for this position. Here’s how it works:

  • You will have a 4-week rotating schedule.
  • For three weeks, you will work 4 days each week for 10 hours each day.
  • For one week, you will work 3 days for 10 hours each day, and one day for 9 hours.
  • This schedule repeats every 4 weeks.

Position is 100% on-site.

Essential Duties include the following; however, other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

  • Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
  • Carries out a variety of vehicle repairs from, but not limited to, oil changes to rebuilding a vehicle again.
  • Diagnoses cause of malfunction and perform repairs, as needed.
  • Repairs vehicles per estimated and according to manufacturer standards.
  • Road tests vehicles to quality check work performed as required.
  • Examines vehicles to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
  • Maintains communication with Service Advisor/Assistant Service Manager (ASM) if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promise time.
  • Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures.
  • Documents all work performed and findings on repair orders and inspection sheets
  • Achieves the production objectives set by management.
  • Provides the administrative assistance necessary to complete warranty repair orders and other tasks assigned by management.
  • Maintains communication with Parts Department on status or parts.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains assigned workspace in an organized and clean manner.
  • Maintains a high level of grooming, hygiene and uniform appearance.
  • Performance other specific administrative functions as directed by the service management.
  • Maintains high ethical standards in all actions.

Minimum Hourly Pay Rate of $16.90, which can increase based on productivity without any upper limit.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The individual should possess:

  • Less than 12 months of Toyota experience with use of basic tools; in-house apprentice program that includes a minimum of 6 months performing lube, oil and filter changes and certified by a US EPA-Approved Organization for AC repair OR:
  • Less than 2 years of equivalent Service Technician experience OR:
  • PDI Service Technician with UTI or equivalent training; with use of basic tools; in-house apprentice program that includes a minimum of 6 months performing lube, oil and filter changes and certified by a US EPA-Approved Organization for AC repair.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and have and maintain an acceptable, safe driving record.

  • Stand for long periods at a time.
  • Frequently bend, stretch, twist, or reach with their body, arms, and/or legs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects and use hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
  • Perform physical activities that require considerable use of arms and legs.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
