Job description

AlphaGov is building a bench of independent compensation consultants for board-level and executive compensation engagements with large public pension funds, retirement systems, and comparable governmental organizations.
We are seeking a Senior Board & Executive Compensation Consultant for remote, project-based engagements. Work includes annual total-compensation reviews for board direct reports (e.g., Executive Director, Chief Investment Officer, Chief Audit Executive), performance-pay / incentive plan design and assessment, target-market reviews and independent market studies, compensation philosophy advisory, board education and governance briefings, and written analyses presented to Boards of Trustees including occasional on-site board meetings.
This is not a municipal classification & pay-plan study role. Ideal candidates have advised Boards of Trustees (or equivalent governing bodies) on executive compensation for large public pension, investment, or nonprofit organizations.
Requirements
  • Named technical lead on board/executive compensation for public pension/retirement systems
  • Annual total-comp reviews for board direct reports (base + performance-pay)
  • Performance-pay / incentive plan design assessment
  • Target-market reviews and independent market studies (peers often >$100B AUM funds)
  • Board-ready reports and presentations; occasional on-site board meetings
  • Proposal past-performance support under Casa Moon LLC / AlphaGov
  • Independence / no conflicts

Ideal Requirements
  • ≥5 years compensation analysis for financial, investment, or pension-fund industries
  • ≥5 years working with Boards of Trustees / governing bodies including presenting compensation benchmarking at board/public meetings
  • ≥5 years executive compensation and incentive/performance-pay strategies for large public-pension, governmental, or nonprofit organizations
  • Available for remote project-based consulting

PREFERRED
CCP/CEBS/WorldatWork/SPHR; Mercer/Pearl Meyer/WTW/McLagan/Aon board-comp; Texas or large pension experience
