Penn Medicine Princeton Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Emergency Department in Plainsboro, NJ. This is a full-time 7:00 pm - 7:00 am shift opportunity.

This position includes a $10,000 sign on bonus!

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for treating patients with any medical problems that cannot wait to be seen by their regular doctor, as well as severe and life-threatening illnesses and injuries. Registered Nurses are responsible for establishing a therapeutic relationship and an individualized plan of care with the patient for a defined period of time (length of stay on that unit) and for communicating that plan of care to his/her collaborative partners. Registered Nurses are accountable for planning, delivering, coordinating, evaluating, and modifying the patient's care for that defined period of time and for effectively transitioning that plan of care with attention to continuity across shift and settings of care. Emergency nurses provide a multitude of care; ranging from foley insertions, assistance with chest tube and central line insertions, cardiac arrests, blood transfusions, medication administration, splinting of orthopedic problems, laceration repair, prep for the operating room, STEMI (MI) care, therapeutic hypothermia, and intravenous insertion; to name a few.

Credentials:

  • Active NJ Registered Nurse License (Required)

  • Basic Life Saving (BLS) Certification (Required)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Required)

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification (Required)

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; Bachelor of Science Nursing (BSN) - required

Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 months recent nursing experience - required

Unit Information:

  • ED technicians support care in the ED

  • Locked Behavioral health unit within the ED

  • Excellent working conditions

  • Redesign of ED flow promotes a no-wait waiting room

  • During times of surge, alternate pathways enable workups to take place streamlining the length of stay

  • Wonderful working relationships with the ED Providers

  • Medications scanned into the EMR promote safe medication delivery

  • IV Medications delivered via IV pump are verified in the EMR

  • Communication occurs seamlessly via iphones
