Peer Group Leaders are individuals, often students or young adults, who facilitate group discussions, activities, or support sessions among peers with similar backgrounds or experiences. Their primary role is to guide conversations, foster a supportive environment, and encourage participation, often on topics such as academic success, personal development, or social issues. Peer Group Leaders typically receive specialized training to develop leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills. They serve as role models and provide resources or referrals when needed, helping to create a sense of community and belonging within the group.

Peer Group Leaders often encounter challenges such as facilitating open communication among diverse group members, managing conflicts, and balancing their leadership responsibilities with their own personal or academic commitments. To address these, effective Peer Group Leaders develop strong active listening skills, set clear group expectations, and seek regular feedback from group members. Additionally, they benefit from ongoing training and support from supervisors or program coordinators, which helps them navigate difficult situations and build confidence in their leadership abilities.
