Job description

Jackson and Coker is seeking a Board Certified Pediatrics Hospitalist for a locum tenens opportunity in Arizona, starting May 9 and continuing ongoing. This role involves a fixed clinic schedule combined with call coverage, focusing predominantly on newborn care. The ideal candidate will be an experienced provider with a strong background in pediatric hospital medicine.

Practice Info

  • Patients per shift: 8
  • Rounding: both inpatient and outpatient
  • Predominantly newborn care
  • Support staff and resources include front office staff, dedicated medical assistant, dedicated office manager, CLIA-waived testing in office, and higher-level lab and X-ray services at the hospital
  • Provider not required to supervise APPs
  • EMR: Athena (clinic), Medhost (hospital)

Responsibilities

  • Ventilation management (newborn): acute
  • Intubation (ETT/INT): newborn
  • Circumcision
  • Inpatient care
  • Nursery Level I care
  • Attend C-sections/high risk
  • Non-invasive vent management (BiPAP/CPAP)

  • Beeper call
  • Call response time required: 30 minutes
  • Average call # per 24 hours: 2 patients and admissions
  • Phone consults and call-back volume: minimal
