Job description

Summary
Serves as a Duty Manager in the Security Department of the Hale Koa Hotel.
2026 Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) for Honolulu, HI is 8.64%.
Local candidates will be reviewed first as PCS is not authorized. If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered.
The first cut-off date will be on 21 July 2026. Additional lists will be pulled after this first cut-off date at the request of the hiring manager.

Duties
Help
Serves as Duty Manager responsible for the security of 800+ room, full service military hotel and Armed Forces Recreation Center (AFRC). Security is provided on a 24 hour 7 day a week basis. Is responsible for the employee entrance video management system and for internal hotel security. Maintains constant radio contact with management and hotel operator, to ensure immediate contact for resolution of security issues. Assist the Military Police and DoD Police in maintaining security throughout the AFRC property. Provides a full range of security services to guests, patrons and employees. Reviews daily activity and incident report and initiates proper action in accordance with established policies, procedures and regulations.

  • Satisfactory completion of employment verification (E-Verify) check
  • One year probationary period may be required
  • Must be able to obtain a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Must be able to work weekdays, weekends, holidays and various hours of the day and week when required.
  • Must have CPR, AED, and BLS certifications or have the ability to obtain within 6 months of employment

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
Direct related work experience in security operations.
Must possess the ability to assess problems and find prompt solutions.
In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":
Experience in hotel operations.
Experience in writing and reviewing emails, incident reports and shift logs
Education

  • This job is open to candidates who live in this commuting area (the Island of Oahu). If determined that area of consideration is to be expanded, all candidates will be considered. If you reside outside of the local commuting area, relocation costs will be at your expense.

  • Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized based upon a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest.

Allowances and Differentials:
  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
