Job description

Tampa Microwave is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack & Fly Away satellite terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. Tampa Microwave primarily serves Federal and Department of Defense markets.

We are seeking to fill a PCB Rework Assembler position located in our Clearwater, FL location. This position reports to the Operations Manager

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize detailed Assembly Instructions, Process Instructions, and Production Drawings to assemble production assemblies/sub-assemblies.
  • Alert the Manufacturing Lead, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Engineer, or Quality Engineer of any issues/discrepancies observed that violate officially documented processes, instructions, or drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print.
  • Must be able to install electronic components into various circuit board assemblies according to the process or documentation provided.
  • Must be able to solder components and assemblies to printed circuit boards utilizing a soldering iron.
  • Requires manual dexterity with fine motor skills along with high visual acuity.
  • Ability to meet customer requirements using IPC A-610, J-STD-001, IPC7711/21 standards.
  • Must be able to identify components.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Must be able to sit or sand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift or move to 25 pounds withotut assistance
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Fluent in the English language- written and oral
  • 3-5 years of soldering experience
  • IPC & J-STD certification is required
  • Experience working on multi-layer PCBAs
  • Ability to comply with all Company guidelines, policies, procedures and embrace Company Core Values.
  • U.S. Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain US Secret Level Security Clearance upon hire as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a rework position
  • Associates degree in electronics or equivalent experience preferred but not required
  • Quality inspection experience desired
  • IPC A-610, J-STD-001, IPC7711/21 Certification
