Data Center Technician (L1) – NVIDIA Refresh Project

Location: Sparks, NV (Reno / USA Parkway – Switch Campus)

Type: 6-Month Contract

Pay: $28–$31/hour

Start Date: May 18


About the Role

We are hiring Data Center Technicians to support a large‑scale NVIDIA data center refresh project in the Reno/Sparks area. This is a hands‑on opportunity to work in a high-performance data center environment, helping upgrade infrastructure to support next‑generation compute.

This role is ideal for candidates with data center, hardware, or PC technician experience who want to build or expand their skills in rack & stack, cabling, and hardware deployment.


What You’ll Be Doing
  • Install and deploy servers and switches in data center racks
  • Perform rack & stack and follow structured installation plans (rack elevations / wire maps)
  • Run and organize cabling (Cat6 and fiber) to meet NVIDIA standards
  • Inspect hardware for damage and perform basic system checks (smoke testing)
  • Install components such as NICs, drives, and memory
  • Assist with unboxing, staging, and prepping equipment
  • Verify proper cabling and connectivity with network teams
  • Maintain clean, organized cable management and rack setups
  • Support inventory tracking and audits of hardware and materials
  • Perform decommissioning and removal of equipment as needed

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in a data center, hardware, or technical support environment
    • (Data Center Tech, Rack & Stack, PC Technician, or similar)
  • Hands‑on experience or familiarity with:
    • Rack & stack
    • Cabling (Cat6 or fiber preferred)
    • Hardware installs
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work in a structured environment
  • Strong teamwork mindset and willingness to learn

Nice to Have:

  • Data center installation/deployment experience
  • Basic hardware troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with fiber optic cabling

Work Environment
  • Fully on-site role at an NVIDIA data center
  • Team-based project environment led by an on-site supervisor
  • Focused on installation and decommissioning work (not operations support)
