Description The Payroll Specialist performs a variety of administrative, clerical, and technical tasks related to payroll and finance. This role works closely with Clark County Rehabilitation and Living Center departments as well as County Finance and Payroll to process payroll, payment vouchers, and financial records accurately and efficiently. Examples of Duties Process and coordinate payroll activities, including monitoring changes in payroll and timekeeping systems Provide backup support to the Director of Finance for payroll processing, including data input and imports Assist with payroll proofing and take corrective action to resolve errors Audit, prepare, and process payment vouchers from all departments Run payroll and financial reports and ensure accuracy of records Provide administrative, clerical, and technical support to the Business Office Assist with budget preparation through data entry, report generation, and financial correspondence Scan and maintain financial documents for journal entries, contracts, and monthly reports Order and maintain office supplies Assist with accounts payable and receivable processing and review for accuracy Effectively obtain and verify all payroll-related information Provide support, guidance, and answers to payroll-related questions Communicate professionally and collaborate with internal departments and County staff Typical Qualifications Associate's Degree in Accounting 4 years of experienceworking in a financial office Strong attention to detail and accuracy Effective communication and problem-solving skills Ability to handle confidential financial and payroll information.
