ThePayroll Assistantis responsible for assisting in the weekly processing of payroll. The ideal candidate must be proficient in the use of a PC and Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to do high volumes of data entry for extended periods of time and maintain excellent data entry skills with minimal errors.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Associate Degree

Experience: 6 months to 1 year of accounting/payroll experience

Travel: None

Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. Ability to work a flexible schedule is necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes weekly timecards in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Processes and files Certified Payroll reports.
  • Conducts timecard audits and follow ups.
  • Assists with processing all terminations/reviewing rehires.
  • Documents filing for employee records.
  • Provides miscellaneous monthly reporting for other departments.
  • Assists with miscellaneous payroll processing (gainshare).
  • Posts paystubs on Doculivery.
  • Verifies current employment in response to inquiries. Also verifies unemployment claims and apprentice absences.
  • Acts as point of contact for employees with payroll questions.
  • Reconciles and balances assigned accounts.
  • Cross trains on other duties in the payroll department.
  • Assists with yearend tax and payroll processing.
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
