Job description

Overview

NaphCare has a new opportunity for a Senior Payroll Specialist to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Birmingham, AL. The Senior Payroll Specialist will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing and distribution of payroll for their assigned departments/sites. Under the direct supervision of the Payroll Director, this position must ensure accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, and company deductions in accordance with government regulations and company policies. A successful candidate must be highly organized with the ability to multi-task, work under pressure and manage changing priorities and a heavy workload.

Position Expectations:
  • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Calculate, issue, and record adjustments to pay related to retroactive changes.
  • Audit, scan and file all payroll documents such as tax withholding forms, direct deposit forms and wage garnishments.
  • Processing and maintenance of all staff changes for payroll needs.
  • Respond to and resolve any inquiries regarding paychecks.
  • Utilize ADP Reporting to provide data quickly and accurately from the payroll system.
  • Act as backup for the Payroll Manager.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other related functions and duties as required.
Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 2+ years previous experience processing payroll, preferably with ADP, required.
  • Experience processing high volumes of payroll with a large company preferred.
  • Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now and Enhanced Time preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of products including; Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll best practices.
  • Must have exceptional communication, both written and verbal, and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Bilingual: Spanish-preferred.
