Payroll / Accounting Specialist – Finance Department

Job Summary

We're looking for a highly skilled Payroll Accounting Specialist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has deep expertise in QuickBooks and full-cycle payroll processing. The ideal candidate is accurate, detail-oriented, and confident managing multi-state payroll and complex payroll workflows.

If you're a payroll expert who enjoys problem-solving, loves clean numbers, and values getting employees paid correctly and on time, we'd love to meet you. A Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is strongly preferred.


Key Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly and monthly payroll accurately and on time
  • Oversee payroll processing through our provider (iSolved)
  • Maintain accurate payroll records (earnings, deductions, garnishments, tax filings)
  • Ensure federal, state, and local payroll compliance
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and fix discrepancies
  • Manage payroll tax filings, W‐2s, and all year-end reporting
  • Process benefits deductions, PTO accruals, bonuses, and commissions
  • Work with HR on onboarding, terminations, and employee changes
  • Respond to employee payroll questions professionally and promptly
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll data
  • Support payroll-related audits
  • Assist accounting with journal entries and payroll reconciliations
  • Help maintain and update SOPs and internal documentation

  • 3–5+ years of payroll processing experience
  • Strong experience with QuickBooks and Payroll processing agent
  • Solid understanding of payroll tax laws and compliance
  • Experience with multi-state payroll
  • Proficiency in Excel and payroll reporting
  • High accuracy, excellent organization, strong time management
