Job description

We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist for an immediate temporary opportunity with a well-established organization. This position will be responsible for supporting the full payroll cycle for a multi-state employee population and requires someone who can step in quickly and work independently in a fast-paced environment.


The ideal candidate will have strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, a solid understanding of payroll taxes and compliance, and hands-on experience working with ADP.


Location: Atlanta

Job Type: Temporary

Schedule: Monday–Friday - (Hybrid 2 days work from home)

Pay Rate:$40-43/HR


Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states
  • Manage biweekly and semi-monthly payroll cycles
  • Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, transfers, promotions, bonuses and other compensation adjustments
  • Ensure accurate processing of payroll taxes, benefits, garnishments and other deductions
  • Review and reconcile payroll prior to final processing
  • Audit payroll records, wages and taxes, W-2s, W-4s, 941s and year-to-date earnings
  • Research and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee payroll questions
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure compliance with federal, state and local payroll regulations
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end, quarter-end and year-end payroll activities
  • Partner with HR, Benefits and other internal teams to resolve payroll-related issues
  • Assist with payroll audits, reporting and other payroll-related projects as needed

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on, end-to-end payroll processing experience; 5+ years preferred
  • Strong experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Hands-on experience with ADP required
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state and local payroll and tax regulations
  • Experience with payroll reconciliation, reporting and year-end processing
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies
  • Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Associate's degree required
