Senior Accountant - Construction

$45/hour | 1-Year Contract
Hybrid Schedule (3-4 Days In Office, 1 Day Remote)

Quest Financial is seeking an experienced Construction Senior Accountant for an exciting long-term contract opportunity with a growing organization.

Reporting directly to the General Manager and working closely with the Corporate Controller, this position ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial data, compliance with GAAP, and timely monthly closings.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Oversee construction job costing, budgets, change orders, and project financials.
• Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules and apply ASC 606 revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion and cost-to-complete methods.
• Lead month-end and year-end close activities.
• Manage accounts payable, vendor payments, and subcontractor compliance.
• Oversee collections, customer billing inquiries, retainage tracking, and accounts receivable.
• Prepare financial statements, analyze project profitability, and identify trends and variances.
• Partner closely with the General Manager and Corporate Controller to support financial planning and operational decision-making.
• Recommend process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including recent construction accounting.
• Recent hands-on NetSuite experience (within the last 12-18 months).
• Strong knowledge of ASC 606, WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and construction job costing.
• Experience managing reconciliations, accounts payable, collections, and month-end close.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
