Job description

Job Title - Payroll Analyst
Duration - ~3-6 Months - potential for Temp-to-Perm based on individual performance and business needs
Location - 185 US Highway 46, Fairfield, NJ 07004
On-Site - 3 Days/Week - these are specific days based on Payroll, generally Monday-Wednesday (subject to change based on business needs). Candidate should be available/flexible to be on-site any day if needed.
The Payroll Analyst will perform tasks to establish and maintain employee/payroll records in payroll system.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Check and audit timekeeping records for compliance with company policy and applicable federal and state laws,
  • Enter new hires into the payroll system, processing terminations, posting changes in compensation, tax status and miscellaneous other employee master file changes with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Perform payroll processing activities, on a weekly and bi-weekly basis including computing wage and overtime payments and calculating and recording payroll deductions.
  • Resolve employee payroll-related issues.
  • Calculate and request payments for union benefits on a weekly and monthly basis for assigned markets.
  • Assist with General Accounting Department bank reconciliation inquiries.
  • Maintain tax jurisdiction files. Responsible for assisting payroll vendor with researching and resolving any tax agency delinquencies and discrepancies. Assists with SOX audits as requested.
  • Assist with special projects as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce.
  • Union experience a plus.
  • Intermediate skills with Excel, Word, Outlook.
  • Needs to be familiar with general ledger.
  • Must be very client-focused, able to interact with all levels of the organization.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently with some supervision as well as be a team player.
  • Must be very detail-oriented, organized, maintain confidential data, and able to work in a very fast-paced environment.
