Description Assist Payroll Administrator with the duties associated with payroll and payroll processing. Examples of Duties Process bi-weekly payroll and other types of payrolls in a timely manner Handle end-to-end payroll processing Calculate complex deductions Adhere to federal, state and local tax laws Handle garnishments Generate reports Assist departments/employees with payroll questions and issues Other duties as required Typical Qualifications Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required and at least one year payroll processing, accounting, or related experience preferred and at least two years of experience working in an office environment. Licenses and/or Certifications: None Knowledge: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook or related software Quarterly and Annual Reporting of Payroll Taxes and W-2's Garnishments, Child Support Orders, and Tax Liens Reporting Requirements of the Virginia Retirement System Skills: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently Strong time-management and multitasking skills Abilities: Ability to deal with all levels of the organization Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Ability to protect the confidentiality of all payroll information Supplemental Information Work Environment: Work is primarily performed in an indoor, climate-controlled, pleasant environment.
