Summary: 

The Payments Initiatives Manager is an essential role for the establishment and progression of growth initiatives for the Payments team and for Huntington Bank overall.  

This role will be actively involved in leading initiatives that deliver on payments growth within this fast growing revenue segment of Huntington Bank. This includes focusing on payments product innovation, fee income growth as well as driving strategically important initiatives such as AI adoption strategies or cross-functional business transformation opportunities across payments and bank segments. The Payments Initiatives Manager will closely work with product managers, sales and service teams and key functional leaders including corporate strategy, technology, operations, finance, risk, and human resources.  Examples of the work include assessing and building business cases for new payments products, partnering with corporate strategy/ product teams on enterprise-wide AI adoption strategies, new partnerships and designing/ implementing new operating models.  To achieve these outcomes, this role will interface directly with senior leadership (including Executive Team members) as well as senior management within other businesses/ functions. This role reports to a member of the Enterprise Payments leadership team.  

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Leading the execution of primary and secondary research, performing analytics, benchmarking current capabilities and conducting competitor analysis to develop fact-base to support setting the direction for enterprise payments strategy. 

  • Leading the development and refinement of OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) throughout Payments.  

  • Responsible for the formation, impact sizing and execution of strategic engagements across Enterprise Payments and in partnership with other divisions and functions within Huntington. 

  • Coordinates and takes accountability for developing strategic presentations to senior management, working cross-functionally to determine and develop appropriate content, messaging and presentation. 

  • Leads defining, prioritizing, and managing various initiatives across payments. 

  • Leads ad-hoc strategic market analysis. 

  • Leads and performs other duties as assigned. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree 

  • 2 years of direct experience in strategic management consulting, payments or technology product strategy is strongly preferred having achieved a leading role 

  • Executive-level presence 

  • Ability to navigate and work cross-functionally and with all levels within an organization 

  • Ability to work and manage with ambiguity 

  • Strong research skills and desire to expand knowledge 

  • Ability to synthesize analysis and research into practical strategic insights and recommendations (critical thinking and assessment) 

  • Ability to manage individuals and complex engagements in a matrixed model 

  • Supervisory or management experience ​

  • Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguity, perform complex strategic analysis and proven ability to translate strategy into execution with responsibility for implementation.  

  • Strong analytical skills Project management skills 

  • Team player

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s/Undergraduate degree from top tier institution. Graduate degree is preferred but not required.  

  • 7+ years experience in management consulting, financial services, payments and/or software technology is preferred.  

  • 5+ years of experience including a successful track record of developing business strategy, financial modeling and analysis, competitive analysis, and strategic business planning
