Job Description

The Head of Enterprise Payments Strategy is responsible for defining and driving the enterprise-wide payments strategy and multi-year roadmap across all payment rails, ensuring alignment with Commercial Treasury and broader bank objectives.  The position chairs payments governance forums, leads cross-LOB decisioning, and resolves strategic, funding, and prioritization conflicts to enable consistent, scalable payments capabilities.  This role drives financial performance, client experience, and stakeholder alignment across the enterprise.

Education & Experience Requirements

This level of knowledge is normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field of study, and 12-15 or more years of directly related experience in payments, treasury, financial services, or transaction banking with a significant portion in a leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Extensive expertise in the payments domain, with practical experience across multiple payment rails (ACH, Wires, Cards, RTP).
  • Proven success in developing and executing enterprise-level product strategies and roadmaps in banking or payments environments.
  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience collaborating across product, technology, operations, and risk teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a matrixed organization, effectively influencing stakeholders at all levels without direct authority.
  • Expertise in product governance and executive decision-making, including prioritization, trade-off analysis, and escalation of critical issues.
  • Deep understanding of payments technology architecture and delivery constraints, with the ability to engage effectively with technology leadership.
  • Experience integrating risk, compliance, and regulatory requirements into product design and strategic decision-making.
