Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the accounts payable department including invoice processing, payment processing, and vendor management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information, ensuring accuracy of financial statements.
  • Provide accurate and effective document coordination and control to ensure that the accounts payable system works efficiently.
  • Manage vendor relationships and build effective partnerships.
  • Assist with internal and external audits ensuring strict compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and file multi-state tax returns.
  • Analyze and resolve any discrepancies in payments and invoices.
  • Train and mentor accounts payable staff to ensure understanding of company processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within an accounts payable function.
  • Proven experience with payment processing, AP, accounts payable, multi-state tax returns, and vendor payments.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and their implications on accounts payable.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service approach.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
