Pay Range & Compensation
The hourly pay scale for this role is $25.50-41.50. Placement within the range is dependent upon qualifications, skill proficiency, and successful completion of onsite skills testing.

Chart fabricates products that can advance your fitting skills with varying job scopes, different equipment, different types of fits, and unique materials. Our foundation of core values promotes personal growth, which enables you to advance quality of work in a safe environment. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia.

What Will You Do?

1) Review and fit using vessel, piping, and structural fabrication drawings and blueprints.

2) Laying out of square tubing material for wall fabrication.

3) Erecting walls, roof, and floor structures.

4) Fitting advanced piping components and interconnecting spool pipe.

5) Fitting Manifolds and Vessels to detailed drawings.

6) Operating Cranes and material handling equipment.

7) Identify varying material types and grades.

8) Identify material from cut list to identify lengths and angles.

9) Review and fit to joint details to fit to the correct tolerances.

10) Preparing various materials, such as Aluminum and Stainless.

11) Work with fitting components designed for cryogenic service at high pressure.

12) Cleaning materials for welding, using power tools and hand tools.

13) Work with tackers to secure joints for fabrication.

14) Maintaining fitting tools and work areas.

15) Rigging materials for secure transportation.

16) Verifying final as-built dimensions with quality technicians.

Your Physical Work Environment Will Require...

Working on equipment at ground level or elevated heights.

Working at heights above 6' with appropriate safety measures.

Continuous movement throughout the day.

Standing or climbing for extended periods of time.

Working around and with machinery.

Working indoors or outdoors.

Moving, lifting, and rigging components up to 50lbs.

Working around co-workers and other assemblies.

Wearing required PPE for different tasks.

Your Experience Should Be...

1) Basic reading and math skills.

2) Able to pass a hands-on structure, piping and vessel fitting test and general fitting knowledge test.

3)  A minimum of 1-2 years of experience in reading and interpreting blueprints as a fitter
