Armed Security Officer

Patrol KC
Pay: $19.00–$21.00/hour (based on experience and equipment)
Schedule: Overnights, Weekends (Overtime may be required)
Status: Immediate openings
Commission: Armed (Required)

IMPORTANT

This position requires an ARMED security commission and a minimum of 1 year of armed security experience. Applicants must be willing and able to work overnights and weekends. Please read the entire job description before applying. These are immediate fill positions.

Job Summary

Patrol KC is seeking professional, dependable Armed Security Officers to join our team. Officers will be responsible for patrolling assigned properties, monitoring CCTV systems, preventing unauthorized access, and responding to incidents as necessary. Successful candidates must demonstrate strong communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

All incidents must be thoroughly investigated and accurately documented in accordance with company policy and local regulations.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Patrol interior and exterior areas of assigned posts
  • Identify and address safety and security risks
  • Carry a firearm for defensive and de-escalation purposes
  • Prevent unauthorized access to property and assets
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and calls for service
  • Monitor closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems
  • Maintain detailed activity and incident logs
  • Document visitors and access as required
  • Coordinate with law enforcement and emergency services when necessary

Minimum Hiring Standards

  • Minimum 1 year of armed security experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an armed security commission through the Kansas City Private Officers Licensing Unit (and other jurisdictions as required)
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (no major violations or accidents)
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Reliable means of communication (cell phone)
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently
  • Must supply own equipment, including but not limited to:
    • Duty belt
    • Firearm with Level II retention holster
    • Black BDU-style pants
    • Clean black boots
    • Vest
