Job Summary
As a Patient Services Supervisor, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful operation of the Food & Nutrition Services Department while delivering an exceptional patient experience. This position is ideal for an energetic and motivated leader looking to advance their career in food service management within a healthcare environment.
The Patient Services Supervisor oversees daily operations for the Patient Services team, including the patient tray line, diet office, and dish room. Working as part of a team of five supervisors and reporting directly to the Patient Services Manager, this role helps support the preparation, plating, and delivery of approximately 750 to 800 meals during each meal service period.
Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure patient and customer satisfaction by consistently meeting or exceeding service expectations.
  • Assist patients with menu selections and provide appropriate alternatives based on prescribed diets, food allergies, sensitivities, cultural backgrounds, ethnic traditions, and religious preferences.
  • Collaborate closely with nursing staff to evaluate patient meal selections, tray accuracy, delivery timeliness, and tray retrieval processes on a daily basis.
  • Address and resolve patient concerns or service issues promptly, escalating matters when necessary.
  • Support all food service operations related to patient meal assembly and delivery, including quality assurance, sanitation, infection control, and compliance with facility standards.
  • Monitor workflow, ensure operational efficiency, and promote a positive team environment.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of food service experience.
  • Experience in healthcare, restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military food service, or related hospitality environments preferred.
  • Understanding of food service operations, including food quality, production standards, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation.
  • Demonstrated leadership, supervisory, coaching, and team management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, staff, leadership, and clients.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as general computer and internet skills.
  • ServSafe Certification preferred.
