Job description

Animal Health Care Center is seeking an experienced Associate Veterinarian (DVM) to join our team and provide evening urgent care within our established small animal general practice.

This position is ideal for a veterinarian who enjoys a fast-paced clinical environment, is comfortable managing urgent medical cases, and values working closely with a supportive veterinary team. Our evening service allows us to provide timely care to patients with illnesses and injuries that require prompt attention outside of traditional daytime appointment hours.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in urgent care or emergency medicine and be comfortable evaluating a variety of acute medical cases. We are looking for a veterinarian who combines strong clinical judgment with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to patient and client care.

Qualifications

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or equivalent) degree.

Active Alamama veterinary license or eligibility for Alabama licensure.

Previous experience in small animal urgent care or emergency veterinary medicine is required.

Strong clinical reasoning and diagnostic skills.

Comfortable performing routine urgent care procedures.

Ability to recognize when a patient requires a higher level of emergency or specialty care.

Excellent client communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to remain calm, organized, and effective in a fast-paced environment.

A commitment to high-quality medicine and compassionate patient care.

Our Practice

At Animal Health Care Center, we believe excellent veterinary medicine is built on both strong clinical care and meaningful relationships. Our goal is to provide our patients with the highest quality medicine while building trust with the people who care for them.

Our doctors have access to modern diagnostic tools, including digital radiography, in-house ultrasound, and advanced in-house laboratory diagnostics such as IDEXX InVue and SediVue, allowing us to efficiently evaluate and treat many cases within the practice.

Our evening urgent care service is supported by a dedicated veterinary team, allowing the DVM to focus on medical decision-making, patient care, and client communication.

Compensation Compensation for this position is production-based, with the DVM receiving 25% of production. Additional employment details and benefits will be discussed during the interview process.
