Must be able to do casting. Under the supervision of the physician, the Physician Assistant (PA) assists with all aspects of patient care to include consultations, diagnosis, and developing treatment plans. The PA will be responsible for direct patient care of our uninsured, underinsured and homeless population. Contributes to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.Schedule:  5 days per week, 8 hours per day, Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. | Location: SBC Clinic, San Bernardino Clinics, CAESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DELIVERABLESProvide comprehensive clinical care to patients of all ages. Monitor developmental health and administer preventive care, including vaccinations.Performs therapeutic procedures by ordering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.Examine patients, obtain medical histories, and perform tests and procedures to diagnose and treat illnesses, medical conditions, and injuries; interpreting test results.Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans and offer guidance on health, safety, nutrition, and fitness needs. Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans. Educate patients and families on managing illnesses and injuries, promoting healthy lifestyle choices.Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records using an Electronic Health Record (EHR). Maintain detailed records of assessment, treatment plans, and progress. Performs therapeutic procedures by ordering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection control policies and protocols.Other duties as outlined in the official job description.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Masters of Physician Assistant Sciences, which includes both didactic and clinical rotations (including Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Women's Health)Licensure/Certification: Valid Physician Assistant License in California. Valid DEA License in California.Experience: 1+ years prior experience in outpatient Primary Care: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, or Women's Health is required. 3+ years prior experience in outpatient Primary Care: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics or Women's Health. Experience working in FQHC a plusEssential Technical/Motor Skills: Calculator and personal computer with Excel and EHR knowledge. Ability use computer and software programs necessary to the position; troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.Interpersonal Skills: Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.Essential Mental Abilities: Able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; work independently with minimal supervision; perform basic math functions; manage multiple assignments effectively; work well under pressure; problem solve; organize and prioritize workload; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail.Work Eligibility: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
