Role Overview

Sodexo is seeking a Child Nutrition Consultant for San Jose Unified School District located in San Jose, CA. Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credentials are preferred for this role, though candidates with relevant nutrition services expertise will also be considered. Candidates will provide expert leadership and support for nutrition services operations. The role is responsible for developing and analyzing recipes and menus, creating special diets, and ensuring full compliance with USDA regulations. The individual serves as a consultant to senior leadership, delivers data-driven insights, and collaborates with frontline staff and administration to improve program effectiveness. Strong financial, analytical, research, and project management skills are essential, along with the ability to communicate clearly and drive results using tools such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

What You Bring
  • Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) credential preferred, or must have a bachelor's degree with an academic major or concentration in food and nutrition, clinical nutrition, dietetics, family and consumer sciences, or nutrition education. Master's degree in the same fields of study is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of menu planning, recipe analysis, special diets, and regulatory compliance within nutrition programs.
  • Excellent analytical, financial, research, and project management skills with the ability to translate data into actionable solutions.
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
