What does a patient navigator do?

As a patient navigator, sometimes referred to as a patient advocate, your responsibilities are to help coordinate a patient’s experience in the healthcare system. You plan care goals for patients, support and educate them about treatment options, help them understand referrals, assist with admissions and discharge paperwork, and advocate for them to ensure they receive the highest quality care.
