Greets patients and visitors – is the first “face” of LifeCare Medical Center. The Patient Access Representative is responsible for registering and scheduling all types of patients – inpatient, outpatient and emergency department patients. As a part of the registration and scheduling process, the Patient Access Representative ensures accurate patient identity and verifies demographic and insurance information.

Job Details:Location: RoseauShift: Primarily day. Evening as needed for coverageJob Schedule: M-F. Rotating weekend and holiday coverageHours: 40/wkFTE: 1.0*Pay Range: Pay Range: $19.25-$25.02, plus evening/weekend differentials

  • It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case and on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees.

What you’ll get to do in this role:

Greets and guides patients and visitors to their destinations with a courteous, respectful and professional manner.

Registers patients with correct patient identity and accurate information within the electronic record system (Epic). Verifies insurance coverage.

Schedules appointments and checks in appointments.

Obtains patient consent for treatment.

Scans consent forms, EKGs and other documents as requested into Epic.

Completes missing account information through assigned work queues.

Works closely with other departments to ensure patients are receiving services (ED Nursing, Lab, Imaging).

Monitors patient and visitor access through the Emergency Department entrance during the night. (11pm-7am Shift)

Cleans Admitting work area and adjacent public areas when needed.

You’re an excellent fit, if you have:

  • education in the medical field, medical office assistant certification, or medical terminology

  • experience in patient access role preferred

  • excellent customer service skills

  • good attention to detail

  • ability to work independently
