Job Description:

The Patient Access Registrar is a Part Time, Regular position working Monday-Friday 2pm-7pm at Sacred Heart Imaging Center.

Summary: Greets and welcome all patients and visitors presenting a friendly, courteous and professional image. Checks in patients with ordered exam, collects patient payments, verifies eligibility for insurance, provides payment estimation, answers phones and ensures a smooth patient flow.

Essential Duties / Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Provides high level of customer service by:
    • Greets and welcomes all patients and visitors
    • Ensures all patients are registered and "arrived"
    • Patients requiring assistance are provided assistance as needed
    • Keeps a clean work area to represent the professional image of Inland Imaging
  • Answers phones and assist callers
  • Arrives and updates patient demographics, checks eligibility on insurance in Medicalis, and checks payment estimator to give amount to patient
  • Checks PayNav for proper insurance information- try to find patient's insurance info if they do not have it with them or is not located on referral.
  • Finds and links orders to patient exams
  • Checks in interpreter through language link.
  • Generates exam reports as requested by referring provider offices
  • Documents and scans all paperwork and attaches to patients accession numbers.
  • Burns patient exams and reports onto CD's, or flash drives, to be given to patients and referring provider offices
  • Coordinates with FedEx for next day mail service requests
  • Resolves the exception log for previous images
  • Loads CDs that have been requested for previous
  • PAC scans to patient timeline any reports for previous
  • Pushes images from Isite to other facilities
  • Processes patient payments through Zirmed
  • Fills out consent forms for breast procedures
  • Calls referring offices to obtain orders not found in Medicalis or to clarify orders
  • Assists patients with their needs while they are in the office
  • (SHIC) Fulfills medical record requests for radiology department at SHMC.
  • (SHIC) Pulls mammography previous for mammography department
  • (SC) Works with departments to schedule St. Lukes patients and pulls demographic/insurance info from EPIC.
  • (SC) Helps switchboard with all the medical requests for Inland Imaging
  • This position may be required to work in a hospital, urgent care or clinical setting.
  • Works with all departments to ensure smooth patient flow and care
  • Merges accounts and resolves exceptions
  • Schedules walk-in patient exams
  • Verifies ICD-10 codes and matches description for walk in exams
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Valid state driver's license and proof of insurance.

  • Detail oriented; ability to multi-task; organized and able to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education through professional journals, approved seminars, etc.
  • Ability to consider individual needs in communication with and assessment and treatment of patients of all ages
  • Adheres to departmental standards and personnel policies by demonstrating professional demeanor in conduct and appearance.
  • Follows company departmental standards and personnel policies by using good teamwork and communication skills to help identify concerns and solutions, assisting where needed to ensure a smooth functioning department.
  • Follows all Health and Safety policies and guidelines of Inland Imaging or its partners depending on work location.
  • Performs other duties as required by displaying team spirit and self-growth, accepting and performing other projects and responsibilities, and requesting other projects and responsibilities.
  • Rotates to other shifts and locations as needed
  • Attendance is a requirement for this position.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED required
  • Experience: One year of clerical experience is preferred
    • Anatomy and medical terminology - preferred
    • Medical office experience - preferred
    • Understanding of all procedures to be read by radiologist - preferred
  • Computer Skills: Experience with the following computer applications is highly desired: Outlook; Workday, Intellispace PACS, EPIC : PayNav; Medicalis; Internet/Intranet
  • Background Check:
    • Must be able to pass a background check required by RCW 43.43.830-840 to work with children under the age of 16, developmentally disabled persons or vulnerable adults
    • In order to comply with provisions set forth in Sections 1128 and 1156 of the Social Security Act, all new employees of Inland Imaging Clinical Associates, LLC will be checked against the LIST OF EXCLUDED INDIVIDUALS provided by the Department of Health & Human Services, Office of the Inspector General (OIG). Employees must not be included on this list.
  • Drug Test: Eligible employees must be able to pass a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.
