Job Description

Based at Munson Medical Center, this leadership role oversees Histology and Cytology services across Munson Healthcare, partnering closely with 11 board-certified pathologists. The department performs more than 117,000 procedures annually and utilizes advanced technologies including Roche Ventana, Hologic ThinPrep, and digital pathology platforms.

This is a unique opportunity to lead specialized laboratory teams, support cutting-edge diagnostic services, and drive operational excellence, quality, and innovation across the health system.

Your Leadership in Action 

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for regional laboratory services, aligning goals and initiatives with the Munson Healthcare strategic plan.
  • Oversee clinical and operational functions across regional laboratories, ensuring high-quality patient specimen collection, testing services, regulatory compliance, and accreditation standards.
  • Develop and manage operating and capital budgets, monitor productivity and resource utilization, and implement corrective actions to achieve financial goals.
  • Lead quality, performance improvement, and customer service initiatives, driving continuous improvement and exceeding customer expectations.
  • Advance laboratory services by evaluating emerging technologies, implementing new testing capabilities, maintaining policies and procedures, and fostering effective communication and collaboration across all laboratory teams and shifts.
Qualifications

What's Required  

  • Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science) or a related healthcare or science field.
  • ASCP certification required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical laboratory experience.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Candidates with an associate degree, 10 years of laboratory experience, and at least 1 year of supervisory/coordinator experience may be considered. A bachelor's degree and ASCP certification must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
