Our focus is on delivering comprehensive hospital-based physician services, fostering true partnerships with our hospital partners to support sustainable healthcare programs and operational excellence.


We are seeking an accomplished Pathologist specializing in surgical pathology to serve as Medical Director for MMC hospital in the Las Cruces area of New Mexico. This leadership role requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in pathology, hospital settings, and clinical management. The successful candidate will oversee surgical pathology services, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and lead multidisciplinary teams to uphold the highest quality of patient care. This position offers an opportunity to influence clinical development initiatives and advance pathology practices within a dynamic healthcare environment. Start date for this position is 10/01/2026

  • Provide expert oversight of surgical pathology operations, ensuring accurate diagnosis and timely reporting aligned with clinical needs.
  • Lead the development and implementation of pathology protocols in accordance with FDA regulations, NCQA standards, and HIPAA guidelines.
  • Supervise pathology staff, including pathologists, laboratory technicians, and support personnel, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership on strategic planning, quality assurance programs, and clinical research initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare management policies, including utilization management, medical records documentation, and Meditek EMR system.
  • Oversee budgeting processes for pathology services while maintaining high standards of medical management and resource allocation.
  • Stay current with advancements in physiology, anatomy knowledge, clinical development, and medical terminology to inform best practices in surgical pathology.

  • Experience in hospital-based pathology services with a focus on surgical pathology.
  • Proven leadership skills in supervising multidisciplinary teams within healthcare settings.
  • Strong knowledge of managed care systems, EMR/EHR systems, and healthcare management principles.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations, NCQA standards, HIPAA compliance, and utilization management protocols.
  • Demonstrated project management capabilities in clinical research or service improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent understanding of physiology and anatomy to support accurate diagnoses and clinical development efforts.
