Job description

Position Title: Intern
Campus: TBD
Reports To: Central Leadership Institute Pastor
Status: Part-time Volunteer (8 - 12 hours)

Position Summary:

Each CLI Intern is placed within a ministry area to gain hands-on ministry experience for a 4-month term starting on August 3rd, 2026. The purpose of this position is to allow developing leaders to pursue ministry while gaining the education and experience for ministry.
Possible Ministry areas are: Kids, Creative, Students, Outreach, Marketing, Young Adults, and Campus Team. Each ministry area may have requirements that are not listed in this job description.
This position is connected to the faith and ministry of the church and moves forward the mission and vision of Central Christian Church.

Responsibilities:
  • Be onsite for weekly CLI class time on Tempe campus.
  • Serves regularly within Central Young Adults.
  • Follow agreed upon schedule with supervisors this will vary depending on department/ministry needs.
  • Attend 1:1s with ministry leads and mentors.
  • Complete all assignments, readings, and reports as assigned through CLI.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • Basic skills utilizing laptops, Microsoft office products, and email.
  • Possess solid time management skills.
  • Experience in leading or supporting events, event planning, and project management.
Competencies:
  • Proficient communication skills.
  • Inter-departmental collaboration and works well with others.
  • Foundational understanding of your faith and how to communicate that with others.
Role model in personal life:
  • Must align with the mission, vision, and values of Central Christian Church and be committed to doing Central no harm.
  • Growing in your personal relationship with Christ.
  • Develop personal evangelism opportunities within and outside the Church.
Model biblical integrity in all things:
  • Adhere to and encompass the qualities and characteristics required of Central Christian Church employees, defined by the Staff Handbook.
  • Financially support the vision of Central Christian Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of gross income.
  • Be an active Owner at Central Christian Church, making every effort to uphold the mission and core values of Central.

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk sit; use hands to finger handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to twenty-five pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
