From your PASSION to ours

The ideal candidate will be responsible for the standardization and pasteurization of the milk sent to the making/production area, maintaining product quality and food safety, and for monitoring various critical control points (CCP) and operational prerequisite programs (oPrP must have strong attention to detail and accuracy, personal qualities of tact and dependability, possess good manual dexterity, vision abilities (close, distance color, and ability to focus).

Key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsible for separation, pasteurization, concentration, and standardization of the milk sent to the making/production area, and for maintaining product quality and food safety.
  • Responsible for separating and concentrating whey sent to customers and for maintaining product quality and food safety.
  • Responsible for the concentration of permeate sent to customers and for maintaining product quality and food safety.
  • Communicate with other team members and supervisors to coordinate production schedules and ensure efficient operation of the RSPC system
  • Monitor CCP #2 : HTST pasteurization temperature, time. Alert the Food Safety Team if any issue.
  • Monitor oPrP #2 : filtration before pasteurization. Alert the Food Safety Team if any issue.
  • Keep accurate records of production data (losses during the shift), inventory, maintenance activities, master sanitation, and any issues encountered with the RSPC system.
  • Standardize milk in compliance with fat and protein targets.
  • Monitor CIP and keep records (occurrences, temperatures, chemical concentration, sample of reclaim water)
  • Perform assigned tasks for the department's sanitation.
  • Uphold all rules governing the confidentiality of information about Lactalis products, recipes, and employee information.
  • Work closely with the quality and food safety team to ensure the product meets quality and specification requirements.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving any issues or malfunctions with the RSPC system to minimize downtime.
  • Comply with all Lactalis policies, procedures, OSHA standards, and company safety policies to ensure an ethical and safe work environment.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or manager
Requirements:

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/General Education Degree (GED) is preferred
  • At least 1 year equivalent RSPC experience in a dairy or similar plant
  • Stable and dependable work history is required

Specialized Knowledge

  • Agri-food industry technology and processes, food biology, food biochemistry, quality, food safety, and health and safety

Skills/Abilities

  • Pasteurization operator license required or the ability to obtain within 6 months

Hours: 1:30 pm - 9:30 pm, and weekends required (every 3rd weekend).

Pay: $24.65/hr + $2.00/hr 2nd shift Premium + 20% Weekend Premium ($4.93/hr). Lactalis offers very competitive pay, benefits and paid time off.
