Job description

This position is responsible for ensuring supplies & equipment is ready for use during in-flight catering. This position is responsible for efficiently receiving, inspecting, inventorying, and stocking incoming food and non-food products in the Materials department. The incumbent works with Storekeepers to ensure prompt delivery of proper product quantities to the food production areas according to requisition information. The employee is also responsible for minimizing delays by resolving or reporting problems to management for resolution. • Assumes responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of inventory, as well as the efficient ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating incoming product. o Counts inventory on hand and accurately records numbers on inventory sheet. o Inspects incoming product for proper quality and quantity o Checks invoices information for accuracy and proper vendor charges o Ensure correct dating of incoming product o Stores product in appropriate storeroom location (cooler, freeze, or shelves). o Maintains correct storage temperatures for product preservation. • Assumes responsibility for effectively and efficiently supplying food production areas and departments with a quality product. o Receives requisitions from departments daily o Pulls product from storeroom locations in accordance with requisition information o Ensures product is delivered according to requirements and schedules o Ensures maintenance of departments address system o Ensures FIFO principles are followed Perform other duties, as assigned.
