As a Controls Engineer, you’ll develop and program robot, PLC, and HMI controls software for robotic packaging automation machinery. You’ll solve complex challenges to exceed customer expectations and help develop some of the newest technology available in robotic packaging automation.

Are you excited about this work?

  • Prepare Robot, PLC, Servo, HMI software from existing software libraries.
  • Confer with mechanical and electrical engineering personnel to prepare software modifications as required.
  • Interpret technical specifications and application parameters.
  • Assist installation team during install, start up and commissioning of new machines.
  • Participate in the start-up of new automation equipment.
  • Perform software modifications to existing machines.
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical hardware engineering team to execute projects.
  • Partner with all other departments as needed.

If this sounds like you, we want to connect!

  • A minimum Applied Science (2-year degree) with emphasis in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Industrial Automation or Robotic Programming. Employer will also accept individuals with over 2 years full time working experience in related fields.
  • PLC programming, HMI development and troubleshooting skills.
  • General understanding of automation; including but not limited to high-speed assembly machinery, SCADA / Gantry / Six-Axis Robotics, FANUC robots and general automation technology.
  • Fanuc Programming and PLC Programming (Allen Bradley).
  • Demonstrated understanding of engineering theories and principles.
  • Ability to work in team environment and a focus on customer service.
  • Strong problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Effective attention to detail, high degree of accuracy.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and blueprint reading preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25 percent.
