This position is part of the AWS Specialist and Partner Organization (ASP). Specialists own the end-to-end go-to-market strategy for their respective technology domains, providing the business and technical expertise to help our customers succeed. Together they provide our customers with the expertise and scale needed to build innovative solutions for their most complex challenges.
We seek a passionate technologist who combines deep technical expertise with business acumen and excellent interpersonal skills to join our team of solutions architects working with business applications software vendors within the AWS Partner Network. This includes partners that provide a broad range of solutions across sales, marketing, operations, human resources, legal, customer experience, and other business functions. Our goal is to help these partners build, go-to-market and sell solutions leveraging AWS programs and capabilities across a range of cloud and AI services. We need a self-driven individual who thrives on continuous learning and working with the latest technologies to produce results that impact customers.
As a Partner Solution Architect at AWS, you will:
- Develop technology strategy and senior level relationships with business applications partners in the AWS Partner Network.
- Leverage your deep expertise in business applications and customer experience to influence senior business leadership at partners.
- Draw on your technical cloud and AI expertise to help partners develop joint solutions by leading substantive architectural discussions.
- Get hands-on building prototypes and demonstrations that communicate the functionality of AWS services.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on business applications, enabling field and technical teams to advise customers on adopting partner solutions that run on AWS.
The ideal candidate brings:
- An inclination to get hands-on with diverse technologies to deepen understanding and create working concepts.
- Customer-facing skills that would allow you to represent AWS well with partners and customers.
- The ability to drive productive discussions with senior business and technical personnel.
- A broad and deep technical background that bolsters credibility when offering guidance to engineers and architects.
- Experience as a thought leader who can capture the attention of decision-makers through channels such as written publications, video, social media, and speaking engagements at industry conferences.
- A knack for thinking strategically across business, product, and technical domains.
30% travel is required.
Key job responsibilities
- Work with partners to deeply understand their business and technical needs. Develop solutions that make the best use of the AWS AI and cloud capabilities.
- Provide architectural guidance and recommendations on building applications efficiently and reliably on AWS.
- Influence solution providers in their development of strategies that will enable them to present their offering on AWS.
- Develop technical content, such as video, white papers and reference architectures, that can be used by our customers and partners to assist them in deploying cloud-based solutions.
- Capture and share best practices with our broader Solution Architect community.
- Share customer feedback to internal product management and engineering teams to help drive the future of AWS cloud.
- Scope each customer engagement, with attention towards clear and well-defined objectives and success criteria.
- Collaborate with AWS field sales, training, and support teams to ensure partner success.
A day in the life
A typical day might include meeting with technical product managers at AWS or with partners, collaborating with others to build and test demonstrations and proofs of concept, and recording or writing technical content such as blog posts and papers. It might also include reading research papers to stay abreast of changes in technology that affect your partners and getting hands-on with AWS every day.
About the team
The team consists of partner solution architects that help AWS's business applications software partners build products and services on top of AWS. We each possess deep expertise in one or more technical domains relevant to our partners. We constantly innovate on behalf of partners and are passionate about learning and building joint solutions with partners as well as communicating in public forums about the business impact of technology.
