Job Summary

The Manager Clinical Care Experience Operations (safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience, patient advocacy) is an integral member of the Clinical Care Experience department with the responsibility of operationalizing system strategy at the local level and across the continuum of care. This position reports to the Executive Director of a specific functional area (safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience OR patient advocacy). This positions primary role is to ensure the local functional partners for (safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience and patient advocacy) develop and mature their skills and execute on the Pulse clinical operating system. This position collaborates with key stakeholders to manage and implement projects system-wide. This role requires experience in using applicable data and continuous improvement best practices and methodologies to identify gaps and lead measures to drive improvement within their functional area. The position requires knowledge of project management and continuous improvement techniques and skill in leading through influence.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's purpose: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

  • Manages large scale projects from inception to implementation, involving key stakeholders in the process and using current Project Management methods. Follows project schedule and work plan, making adjustments and updating key stakeholders with on time completion. Stays current on PM best practices.

  • Utilizes continuous improvement best practices to identify gaps and leading measures to drive improvement in patient experience across the continuum of care. Helps to standardize processes across the system and within their functional team. Stays current on continuous improvement best practices.

  • Uses and can train teams on functional area digital solutions and applications. Follows all Joint Commission, CMS, other regulatory, legal and risk guidelines.

  • Empowers, supports and develops the functional teams and leaders across the organization in operationalizing system strategy. Champions and models One Prisma Health's mission to provide human centered care, providing a psychologically safe environment for the teams. Maintains strong interpersonal skills and demonstrates leading through influence.

  • Develops presentations and content that clearly links Pulse clinical operating system strategy to functional activities. Effectively presents data and strategy to leaders and caregivers.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • Job has direct and/or indirect supervision of team members that may include final budget authority, hire/termination authority, performance appraisal responsibility and disciplinary authority. Job will be considered a member of management staff at Prisma Health or affiliate and will have direct reports.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education - Master's Degree in Business, Organizational Development or Clinical field of study.

  • Experience - Five (5) years of experience in roles related to safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience, patient advocacy.Experience working in a healthcare environment. Experience with performance improvement, project management and/or change management in healthcare preferred. Experience in leading large scale project design and implementation preferred.

In Lieu Of

  • In lieu of Master's Degree, minimum seven (7) years' experience in a healthcare setting in roles related to safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience, or patient advocacy required. Experience in performance improvement, project management and/or change management preferred. Experience leading large scale project design and implementation preferred.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses

  • Six sigma certifications preferred.

  • Project Management certification preferred.

  • Licensure related to functional area (safety, quality, infection prevention, patient experience or patient advocacy) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Basic computer skills with proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases

  • Mathematical skills

  • Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)

  • Able to use applicable data and continuous improvement best practices and methodologies to identify gaps and lead measures to drive improvement within their functional area.

  • Knowledge of project management and continuous improvement techniques and skill in leading through influence.

  • Knowledge and experience with utilizing continuous improvement methodologies preferred
