Position Overview ย 

The Front Desk Staff plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and positive first impression for members and guests. This position is responsible for delivering excellent customer service, assisting with membership inquiries and program registrations, and supporting daily front desk operations. The ideal candidate is friendly, reliable, and service-oriented, with a strong commitment to providing an exceptional member experience and upholding the YMCA mission and values.ย 


Benefits You'll Receive ย 

  • Complimentary YMCA Membership for Part-Time employees. An additional adult family member may be added for $20 per month.ย ย 
  • Participation in the National YMCA Retirement Fund, a defined contribution plan. Employees become eligible for a 12% employer contribution after completing 1,000 hours of service in each of two 12-month periods (doesn't have to be consecutive).ย ย 
  • All staff are eligible to make voluntary 403(b) retirement contributions (no employer match).ย ย 
  • Discounts on YMCA Programs (Immediate Family)ย 
  • 50% discount for staff working 20 or more hours per pay periodย ย 
  • 25% discount for staff working 10-19 hours per pay periodย ย 
  • 15% discount for staff working fewer than 10 hours per pay periodย ย 

What You'll Do:ย  ย 

  • Greet members and guests with a positive and professional attitudeย 
  • Process new memberships, renewals, and program registrationsย 
  • Answer questions about programs, policies, and facility usageย 
  • Promote YMCA programs, events, and servicesย 
  • Maintain accurate records and handle transactionsย 
  • Support daily operations and ensure policies are followedย 
  • Provide excellent customer service and resolve concerns appropriatelyย 
  • Attend all required staff meetings and trainings, includingย abuseย risk management and youth safety training

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role requiredย 
  • Basic to intermediate computer proficiency requiredย
