Description
MONITOR POSITION - PART TIME - 2nd shift
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to provide daily guidance, supervision and accountability of program residents as well as security of the facility.
All activities must support the Firetree, Ltd. mission, strategic goals, and objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The position duties and responsibilities listed below describe the general nature and scope of work. Other responsibilities, duties and skills may be required and assigned, as needed.
• Guide and supervise resident movements inside and outside of the facility.
• Assist residents with indoor and outdoor leisure activities and smoking breaks.
• Assist in intake and orientation to include completion of forms, reviewing client rules and consent forms, logging personal items.
• Conduct regular room checks to ensure resident accountability and clean living environment.
• Monitor resident behavior and log any issues in the communication log.
• Complete inter-facility reports on any unusual incidents or occurrences with residents as needed.
• Submit reports as directed by supervisory staff and/or program policy and procedures.
• Attend mandatory in-service training and outsourced training as required.
• Assist residents in self-medication in absence of the medical staff.
• Transport residents to and from appointments or destinations (pick-up/drop-off) as needed.
• Sign residents in and out of facility.
• Complete resident searches to include: pat-down, bag, auto, room, locker searches and monitoring of metal detector.
• Maintain accurate logs including Shift Log, Work Release Log and Visitor's Log.
• Perform inventory counts of resident personal belongings.
• Perform inventory counts on storage and cleaning chemicals stored in the facility.
• Supervise residents in performance of assigned duties.
• Administer breathalyzer and drug screening tests as needed or required.
• Assist in the food handling/preparation process as required, hand out bag lunches as necessary.
• Answer and respond to phone calls from referral sources.
• Answer/screen front entry door.
• Check/review EVS as required.
• May run group sessions and community meetings and record notes.
• Effectively use Enterprise Manager (EM).
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or GED and demonstrated experience dealing effectively with people. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
Technical Skills
To perform this job successfully, the employee should have strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). Must have the ability to learn other computer software programs as required by assigned tasks.
