Job description

Duties Description Strategic Planning and Innovation (SPI) performs management activities designed to set priorities, focus energy and resources,strengthen operations, and ensure that employees and other stakeholders are working together to achieve measurable results. This office is providing project oversight for several initiatives that will transform the way the Department delivers services to partner agencies and to the public, and this position will play an important role in ensuring the success of these modernization efforts. Daily tasks, type of work performed, and typical hours and days of operation of the office for a Training Assistant in SPI's Training Unit will include: Developing a training program by determining course content, method of presentation, and course materials.

Conducting in-person or virtual training courses to applicable staff using pre-approved lesson plans. Creating questionnaires and evaluating training courses through the use of questionnaires. Managing and maintaining agency training records.

Interns will work 20-30 hours per week, with typical hours being 8:00 am to 4:00 pm; with flexibility Monday thru Friday. Minimum Qualifications To be considered for the New York State Internship Program students must: Be a United States citizen or foreign national eligible to work in the United States Be 18 years of age or older Be actively enrolled in a New York State college, university, or graduate program, or be a resident of New York State, attending a college, university, or graduate program outside of New York State Have completed a minimum of one (1) year as a student at a degree-granting two or four-year college or university (completion of one year's worth of academic credits over a longer period may qualify part-time students for participation in the program), or be a currently enrolled graduate student or accepted in a graduate degree program Have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0, or the letter grade equivalent Candidates must be currently enrolled as part-time or full-time undergraduate, or graduate college students at an education institution accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the United States (U.S.) Department of Education/Secretary of Education. Ideal applicants are college students with an interest in Communications/Public Relations, Human Resources, Human Services, or Planning/Analysis/Research
