Collaborating with a plethora of partners and narrative-busting IPs, iam8bit punctuates the importance of engaging with fans directly. By creating the video game industry's very first community events, the company injected the idea of experiential immersion into game and film marketing. iam8bit also played a crucial role in the vinyl renaissance, minting its first record in 2010, and is the industry leader in premium physical editions of top-tier games.


In 2020, iam8bit evolved into financing and publishing games, including the smash hit Escape Academy and its upcoming sequel; Petal Runner, a love letter to Game Boy Color-era RPGs; and the chill vibes simulator Simpler Times. The company is based in Los Angeles and co-owned/co-creatively directed by Jon M. Gibson and Amanda White.


Iam8bit Presents is looking for aProducer to help drive the delivery of our slate of games. This is a key role project managing multiple games, including establishing requirements, managing schedules, and facilitating communications with development teams and vendors. We're looking for someone who will never compromise quality, continuously inspect and improve processes, and promote sustainable, realistic game development. We are a small team and looking for a resourceful problem-solver who is highly communicative, agile, and creative! This position reports to the Head of Games.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Act as the central point of communication for development teams, providing regular updates to stakeholders and addressing any concerns or roadblocks.
  • Manage timelines for milestones, artifacts, and deadlines across publishing and development.
  • Proactively manage and reduce project risks throughout production, using project management methodologies.
  • Use creative problem solving skills to unblock developers and navigate through ambiguity.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement by helping to develop and refine templates and frameworks used for publishing, production, and release management.
  • Provide constructive feedback on game quality and player experience, representing the voice of the player to guide the team toward necessary iteration.
  • Procure vendors for publishing services such as localization and porting, serving as a liaison between them and development teams.
  • Support release of games, DLC, patches, and updates by ensuring all required checks and approvals for release are completed.
  • Work with QA to help triage issues, maintain priority lists and support planning of hotfixes, patches, and content releases.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • 3-5 years of game production experience developing console & PC games.
  • Experience working in agile environments and using project management tools.
  • Exceptional written & spoken communication skills.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and time management skills.
  • High attention to detail and able to juggle multiple projects at once.
  • Thorough understanding of Jira processes and administration.
  • Strong problem-solving and prioritization skills..
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of initiative, autonomy, and self-sufficiency.
  • Respect for cultural differences and ability to communicate successfully with international development partners.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Game Design, Communications, Computer Science, Business, or similar field.
  • Thorough understanding of Jira processes and administration.
  • Experience with first party submissions and release management (code & metadata) for Sony, Nintendo, and Xbox
  • Experience leading or managing playtesting.
  • Experience in mobile, PC, and console games.
  • Coding knowledge.
  • Has shipped at least one game.
  • Experience directing the work of individual contributors and/or external vendors. .
  • Experience in both game publishing and development.
  • Bilingual.


This is a temporary part-time, non-exempt position with an anticipated base of $40-44 hourly DOE with an expectation of 24-30 hours per week through December 18, 2026. Core Office Hours are 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday - Friday. The position is fully onsite at our offices in Highland Park.
