Primary Job Duties

The CASS Auditor Level I reports to the Supervisor of CASS and Manager of Quality Assurance/CASS to help administer the SkyWest's Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS). The position focuses on performing General Maintenance Manual (GMM) Audits and other Internal and Special Audits as assigned. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, effective communication skills (both oral and written), the ability to read and understand technical data, and an interest in researching complex topics in preparation for interviews with Auditees.

  • Completes Continuing Analysis Surveillance System (CASS) Audits including:
    • Internal Audits (within the SkyWest Maintenance Department)
    • Special Audits (related to concerns identified through trends, alerts, and internal or external issues)
  • Inputs audit data into the Quality Management Software (RizePoint)
  • Organizes schedules to accomplish all assignments
  • Communicates effectively with auditees
  • Provides a summary of findings identified with backup explanations when required
  • Follows up on overdue corrective action plans
  • Additional Duties/Responsibilities as identified in SkyWest Airlines' General Maintenance Manual (GMM) Sections, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and other SkyWest Airlines Manuals

Minimum Requirements
  • Proficient in the following skills:
    • Organizational and Scheduling
    • Communication (oral and written)
    • Attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Read and understand technical data
    • Computer literacy
      • Microsoft Office including:
        • Word Processing (at least 40 wpm)
        • Excel
        • Outlook
        • Teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience with:
    • Quality Management Software
    • PDF Editing Applications
    • Performing auditing techniques
    • Quality Manuals, Operations Specifications (Ops Specs), and applicable Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
    • Systems Analysis, Safety, Risk Assessments, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
    • Human Factors behavior and training

Physical and Other Requirements
  • This is a part-time position (24-29 hours per week) located at SkyWest Headquarters in St. George, UT. This is not a remote position and requires residence in St. George or the surrounding area.
  • Must be able to perform all physical requirements and essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, including but not limited to:
    • Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship.
