Overview
The Marketing Associate position offers you the chance to gain excellent brand marketing experience while working in the fun and rewarding environment of recreational sports at the University of Utah.
Description
The Campus Recreation Services Marketing Associate will assist the Marketing Manager with the implementation of all marketing related activities. Associates are expected to learn and use marketing skills and knowledge of the university campus to ensure optimal implementation and exposure of Campus Recreation Services programs, services and facilities.
Responsibilities
General Description:
  • Online marketing (i.e. web design, email marketing)
  • Social Media Marketing (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube)
  • Video Marketing (YouTube, filming and editing educational and promotional pieces)
  • Traditional Marketing (i.e. direct mail)
  • Marketing Collateral (i.e. brochure, poster, and flyer design)
  • Brand Awareness (i.e. promotional banners, posters, flyers, brochure racks)
  • Product Trials (i.e. product sampling and demonstrations)
  • Lead-Generation (i.e. contests, sweepstakes, opt-in email lists)
  • Special Event Management (i.e. RecFest, Turkey Target Shoot, campus tablings and presentations, etc.)
  • Relationship Management (i.e. coordinating with on campus departments and sponsors)

Duties include (but not limited to):
  • Identifying opportunities on campus that provide the ideal environment for program promotion
  • Implementation and execution of sponsor promotions and events
  • Meeting all sponsor event requirements such as verification photos, data collection and reporting
  • Maintaining a current online and social media presence
  • Marketing collateral design and distribution

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current University of Utah student
  • Preferably enrolled in Marketing, Public Relations, or Graphic Design degree program, but not necessary
  • Good organization, listening and communication skills

Preferences
We are always looking for associates with special skills in the following marketing areas: photography, videography, graphic design, web UX/UI, outreach, social media management and content editors
