Grace Adventures Ministries is a religious organization that makes employment decisions on Bible based beliefs and practices. Because of the nature of our Christian program; Christian belief, character, and practice are essential requirements of employment positions.

SUMMARY OF POSITION: Fulfill the overall ministry of Grace Adventures Ministries and support the daily execution of business operations. This part-time position directly assists the Business Services Manager in the administration of financial tasks, human resources data entry, and routine bookkeeping. The focus of this role is to handle high-volume administrative tasks to ensure accurate internal controls and smooth day-to-day office operations.

ASSUMPTIONS:

  1. This person will understand and uphold the Grace Adventures philosophy of ministry.
  2. This person must have general knowledge of basic administrative and office activities.
  3. This person must have high attention to detail in data entry, and excellent communication skills.
  4. This person will be solution-focused and provide timely feedback for those served.
  5. This person will communicate (written and oral) the ministry of Grace.
  6. This person will maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial and employee records.
  7. This person will diligently follow established internal controls for all accounting practices.
  8. This person will maximize their time for efficiency during their designated part-time hours.
  9. This person will have the ability to work with people in a positive, servant-minded attitude.
  10. This person will practice good stewardship in the management of utilities, office equipment, and other resources.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Support the daily administration of Grace Adventures by completing assigned tasks:
    1. Accounts receivable data entry and processing.
    2. Accounts payable data entry and processing.
  2. Organize and file financial documentation.
  3. Assist with financial summaries in anticipation of monthly financial reports.
  4. Support, and be trained in, payroll processing.
  5. Provide clerical and data entry support for the human resource functions of the organization.
  6. Provide clerical support during the preparation of the annual budget.
  7. All other duties as assigned by the Business Services Manager or Vice President of Operations/COO.

RESPONSIBLE TO: Business Services Manager, with ultimate oversight by the COO.


SCOPE: This position is part time, hourly, with no benefits, anticipating 10-20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.

HOUSING: Not provided.

Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A testimony and lifestyle giving evidence of a true experience of salvation by grace in Jesus Christ.
  2. An attitude of excellence in workmanship, critical thinking, and strong organizational skills.
  3. Associate degree in business/accounting OR minimum 2 years of experience in bookkeeping, data entry, or office administration.
  4. Basic financial or clerical training commensurate with responsibilities.
  5. A supportive attitude to the needs of staff, guests, and goals of the organization.
  6. A desire to learn and develop new skills.
  7. Be flexible to change as the greater need of the ministry and fulfillment of the mission statement requires, by performing any duties as assigned by the Business Services Manager or Chief Operating Officer (COO).

AUTHORITY:

  1. This person will have the authority to represent the mission and vision of Grace Adventures Ministries through all personal contacts, communication pieces, and telephone conversations for the good of the organization.
  2. This person shall have the authority to process and organize financial and HR documents as directed by the Business Services Manager. (This position does not have independent spending or budget approval authority).

Grace Adventures is an at-will employer, which is defined as: At the will of either the employee or the employer, termination can be made at any time. Common consideration on either part is expected consisting of a minimum two-week notice under normal circumstances.
